A Western Christmas Carol Lights Up Teton Valley
Published November 12, 2025

Each December, the ACT Foundation brings its hallmark production to life: Ebenezer: A Western Christmas Carol. The nonprofit enriches the valley through its mission to grow Arts, Cinema, and Theater year-round, offering creative opportunities that connect people through performance, film, and storytelling. From youth drama camps and acting workshops to community plays and film events, the ACT Foundation keeps the spirit of the arts thriving in Teton Valley.
Its signature show, Ebenezer, reimagines Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with a Western twist. The story unfolds in a frontier town saloon, where a gruff old rancher is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, learning hard-won lessons about generosity and redemption along the way. Featuring talented local actors and crew, this homegrown production captures the heart of the community while celebrating the timeless message of compassion and change.
Performances take place at Pierre’s Theatre, located at 37 N Main Street in Victor, Idaho. This historic venue first opened in 1941 as the New Paramount Theater and later became Pierre’s Playhouse, famous for its lively melodramas and family entertainment. After years of transformation, Pierre’s was beautifully restored and reopened in 2021, reclaiming its place as a cultural landmark and gathering spot for local arts. Its vintage charm and intimate stage make it the perfect setting for Ebenezer, blending the past and present into a truly local experience.
The show runs during the first week of December, coinciding with Victor’s Christmas Parade, a community celebration that lights up Main Street and signals the start of the holiday season. Opening night has become a cherished Teton Valley tradition, uniting residents and visitors in a festive kickoff filled with laughter, music, and holiday cheer.
Through the ACT Foundation, art and community come together in meaningful ways. From live performances to film screenings and educational programs, the organization ensures that creativity remains an essential part of life in the valley. And each winter, Ebenezer stands as a joyful reminder of that mission—proving that great stories, told close to home, have the power to bring people together.
