Teton Valley Ski Education Foundation

The Teton Valley Ski Education Foundation (TVSEF) has been the non-profit ski team in Teton Valley for over 30 years. Our mission is to provide the children of Teton Valley an affordable winter sports program that offers skill improvement and leadership training, builds self-confidence, and creates within each athlete a lifelong love of winter sports.

TVSEF was founded in 1978 by local ski racing legends Dana Mackenzie and the Melehes brothers. They introduced the wonder of ski racing to the youth of our Valley. Their mission still stands today to encourage discipline, respect, physical fitness and healthy competition in the children of Teton Valley. The team has contributed to the development of regionally and nationally ranked athletes and ski professionals, including our most recognizable alum on today’s ski scene, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa. TVSEF offers programs designed for multiple levels and disciplines including Developmental Teams, Freeride/Freeski, Ski Racing, Snowboarding and new this year, Nordic, with our merge with the Teton Nordic Team.

We are comprised of children, coaches, and parents who together form a skiing & snowboarding community. Athletes are trained, prepared, and supported for the level of competitive advancement that they seek. TVSEF follows the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) guidelines on athlete development.

Volunteers are key to the achievement of TVSEF’s mission. All parents of athletes are required to volunteer each season in support of areas such as fundraising, events, and administration. Volunteers keep TVSEF program fees affordable, and make for a club that is strong, sustainable, and fun! Work deposits required: $100 per family.

Mountain Safety & Citizenship
TVSEF is committed to raising mountain safety awareness. All of our programs include learning the fundamentals of staying safe on the slopes and teaching athletes how to help themselves or others in certain situations. We expect all athletes and coaches to represent the club in a manner that exemplifies good personal behavior, citizenship and sportsmanship.
